PIONEERING ELECTRIFICATION: ADRESSING MARKET CHALLENGES
NEXTBAT is at the forefront of enabling the electrification of diverse mobility modes, spanning road, waterborne, airborne, and rail transport, as well as non-road mobile machinery. A key challenge is ensuring the market uptake and competitiveness of battery systems tailored to these varied applications. These battery systems must meet stringent performance criteria, all while maintaining cost-effectiveness and, specially, safety standards, which are crucial for the market uptake of batteries in transport and mobile applications.
EMPOWERING INDUSTRY GROWTH: TACKLING UPSCALING CHALLENGES
NEXTBAT is committed to supporting industrial upscaling, a crucial step in realizing the widespread adoption of electrified mobility solutions. This endeavour entails designing battery systems for manufacturability and leveraging new digital tools for system design, manufacturing, and testing. By addressing the challenges of upscaling, the project aims to facilitate the seamless integration of advanced battery technologies into mass production processes.
CHAMPIONING SUSTAINABILITY: EMBRACING CIRCULAR ECONOMY PRINCIPLES
Sustainability lies at the heart of NEXTBAT, with a dedicated commitment to advancing the establishment of a circular economy for battery systems. The project’s focus extends beyond performance and cost to encompass the entire lifecycle of batteries, from production to end-of-life management (including dismantling, recycling, reuse, and remanufacturing). By prioritizing sustainability, the aim is to minimize the environmental impact of battery production and disposal, paving the way for a more sustainable future for electrified mobility.
